Remuseum - Aviation and Transportation by Air
This site is intended to be a complete list of all British aircraft types ever built. Currently the site features over 880 aircraft types. For each aircraft type the directory will contain details of the specification, number produced, where preserved examples are on display in the UK and a list of links about that aircraft.
This is a large undertaking which will take several years to complete. It is intended to start with the larger aircraft companies and then progress to the smaller manufacturers.
While every effort is made to ensure that the information included is accurate, no responsiblity is accepted for errors. If you have any information you would like included in the directory, you know of any web sites about British aircraft or the location of any survivors, or you spot mistakes, please contact us.
The history of veteran's day begins in the year 1919 when the United States President Woodrow Wilson announced Armistice Day on November 12th. So in America every eleventh of November is celebrated as Veterans Day, and is a public holiday observed to honour the thousands of men and women who died, and the millions of people who served their nation in wartime. An interesting fact is that the majority of US war veterans live in only five US states, namely Florida, California, New York Pennsylvania, and Texas. California actually heads the list with more than two million veterans within the state. Veterans Day in the United States is also a day to honour the American flag and all it represents. Every country finds great meaning in its national flag, and for many people their nation’s colours are a source of great pride, and they love to see it floating up in the sky and being honoured. The American flag actually has a rather interesting and unique history.
There used to be thirteen colonies of British North America until the south declared their independence. As a result the flag contains thirteen red and white horizontal stripes with a British Union Flag in the top left corner, and fifty five white stars on this blue background. The flag was designed by congressmen including Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Lynch, and Benjamin Harrison. Get in touch with us here at the Military History website with all your views and feedback.
